I wish I had read this a year ago. I was always pitching unstructured ideas. My manager would say no and I'd feel like she didn't value my ideas. It looks me some time to realize that I had to present my ideas in a better way.

What helped you make the shift towards how you pitch ideas today?

I paid attention to how other team members and my manager pitched their ideas. It made me realize that I was throwing out one line suggestions with no regards to business goals or departmental priorities. I also asked my manager how she wanted me to share my ideas with her. She provided examples and I started using them as templates.
